Lorna S.
Corrigan. Lorna engages in a general practice, and
particularly enjoys trial work. She advises clients on and
litigates general civil issues such as real estate and landlord/tenant
matters and cases referred to her by other lawyers at Newton Kight
L.L.P. or at other law firms.
Lorna grew up in Bellevue, Washington, and graduated from
Whitman College. She then obtained her law degree from the University
of Puget Sound School of Law, now Seattle University School of Law.
While in law school, Lorna was appointed to the Moot Court Board, and
was selected a member of the National Order of Barristers in
recognition of High Honors in the art of courtroom advocacy.
Lorna began her legal career as an Assistant City Attorney for the
City of Bremerton, where she gained significant trial experience as a
prosecutor. Later she was assigned to civil matters, including the
representation of City boards and commissions, and the defense of the
City against third-party claims.
In 1989, Lorna joined the law firm of Newton Kight L.L.P., where she
continues her trial work and general practice as a partner with the
firm. Lorna has been active for many years in civic organizations. She
has served as the President of the South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary,
as a board member for a local mental health organization, as a
local planning commissioner, as the Chair of the Everett Mountaineers
and as the Secretary of the Mountaineers. She enjoys outdoor
activities, including hiking and skiing.
