M. Geoffrey G. Jones. Geoff has a general practice concentrating primarily in the area of elder law and guardianships. His practice also includes collection work, and he represents many of the firm clients in matters relating to the enforcement of judgments and bankruptcy. Geoff also represents clients in matters pertaining to real estate and construction contract litigation. Geoff grew up in Edmonds, Washington, and went to college at The Evergreen State College in Olympia. Geoff has been practicing law since 1989 after he graduated in the top 5% of his class from the University of Oregon School of Law. He first went to work as an Assistant Attorney General for the Washington State Attorney General's Office in Olympia where he represented several state agencies in civil matters including the Department of Employment Security, the Department of General Administration and the Department of Information Systems. In 1992, Geoff joined his father, Bruce Jones, in the private practice of law with Newton Kight L.L.P. Since then Geoff has enjoyed the broad range of experience he has gained in the various areas of law in which Newton Kight L.L.P. firm practices. Over the last decade, Geoff has also become involved in many civic and nonprofit organizations in the Everett community including the Community Health Center of Snohomish County, the Snohomish County chapter of the American Red Cross, Cocoon House and the Rotary Club of Everett.
