Dubs Ari Tanner Herschlip. Dubs enjoys transactional and
trial work with a focus on personal injury,
land use, real estate, and business. Dubs is admitted
to practice before Washington courts as well as the U.S.
District Court for the Western District of
Washington.
Dubs grew up in Mukilteo and graduated from
Mariner High School. He attended Whitman
College for a liberal arts education
including theater, Spanish, and a Bachelor of
Arts in Sociology. He attended the Willamette University
School of Law for his first year of law school and
transferred to the University of Washington
School of Law where he graduated in 2001.
Dubs began his legal career clerking for
land use hearing examiners and counseling
non-profit corporations. Soon, he entered
a busy personal injury practice in Everett.
Then, he accepted a Special Assistant
City Attorney position as land use code
enforcer for the City of Seattle. Later,
he litigated cases for Dubuar, Lirhus &
Engel, LLP, in Seattle. Finally, in 2005,
Dubs came home to Everett to establish his
civil practice with Newton Kight LLP.
Dubs serves the public in many capacities.
Dubs serves on the Red Cross of Snohomish
County Board of Directors, and acts as a Washington
State Bar Association Trustee on the Young Lawyers
Division Board of Trustees for the Snohomish District and as
Chair and Liaison to the YMCA Mock Trial Program since 2005.
Dubs also coaches the Archbishop Murphy Mock Trial Teams.
He was Co-chair of the King County Bar Association
Professionalism Committee and Coordinator
of the Councils of Law. He is currently a
member of: the Snohomish County Bar
Association, Young Lawyers Division; the
Washington State Association for Justice; and the
Washington State Bar Association
Real Property and Probate Section. Dubs
served as the 2005 Chair of the Washington
State Bar Association Trial Advocacy
Program Planning Committee and the 2004/2005 Vice-Chair
of the Washington State Bar Association, Young Lawyer's
Division, Membership Committee. Dubs was identified as
a "Rising Star" in Super Lawyers Magazine in 2006.
He utilized his fluency in Spanish for two years with the
King County Bar Association, Spanish Legal Services
Clinic. Dubs has a black belt in mixed martial arts and
enjoys hiking and mountain biking.
